Points from Baudrillard

Ethnology

-applied to all living things
-invisible like a 4th dimension
-vengeance of the dead

Mummies

- we stockpile the past in plain view
-restore visible order
-embalming immortalizes a hidden dimension
"We require a visible past, a visible continuum, a visible myth of origin, which reassures us about our end."
- we need to know our past in order to understand what our future may entail
- we need visible representations

Iconoclasm

- the idea that a visible represention of God takes away from the power that the God holds
-Urge to destroy religious images

Disneyland

-presented as imaginary which makes everyone think that the rest is real-- the surrounding area no longer seems real (Los Angeles/ America)
